Best Simple Remedies For Gastritis

1. Apple cider Vinegar 

What you need 

  • Apple cider vinegar (1 tablespoon) 
  • Honey (1 teaspoon) 
  • A glass of water 

What to do 

  • Mix the vinegar and honey in water and mix. Then drink.

How often should this be used?  

  • For best results, drinking once or twice daily is fine. 

What it does 

Apple cider vinegar reduces excess production of stomach acid while restoring Balance. In addition, it destroys microorganisms causing stomach lining damage. Honey provides soothing relief to the affected stomach lining.  

2. Aloe Vera  

What you need 

  • Fresh aloe vera gel (2 teaspoons)
  • A glass of water 

 What to do 

  • Mix the aloe vera gel inside the water. Drink!

How often should this be used? 

  •  Take 1-2 glasses daily 

What it does 

Aloe Vera juice soothes the damaged stomach lining. It has anti-inflammatory properties that reduce stomach lining inflammation. 

Because it is an antiseptic agent, this mixture also destroys the bacteria causing infection. 

3. Baking Soda

  • What you need 
  • Baking soda (1 teaspoon) 
  • A glass of water 

 What to do 

Stir Your baking soda in water. Mix until it’s not cloudy. The drink. 

How often should this be used? 

Use as at when required

What it does 

This remedy can eliminate the burning sensation that comes with gastritis. Baking soda works like an antacid that reduces the stomach’s acid level. 

4. Coconut Water 

What you need 

Coconut water 

What to do 

  • Drink a glass of coconut water when eating 
  • How often should this be done? 
  • Drink up to 4 glasses daily for the best result 

What it does 

  • Coconut water, both young and developed, has anti-inflammatory priorities that soothe the inflamed stomach lining.
  • Avoid coconut water that’s tangy as they lead to acid reflux. 

5. Cabbage Juice For Gastritis

What you need 

Green cabbage 

What to do 

Cut the green cabbage into big pieces.

Put in a juicer and extract the fresh juice. Drink. 

To add a healthier and tastier twist, add celery stalks and carrots.

How often should this be done

Drink at least 2 times daily 

What it does 

Cabbage contains vitamin U, an ulcer healing vitamin that also cuts stomach lining and removes gastritis within 7 days. The juice also cleanses the intestine and stomach. 

6. Coconut Oil 

What you need 

Coconut oil 

What to do 

Add the oil to your meal 

How often should this be done 

2-3 teaspoons daily are fine. 

What it does 

The antioxidant contained in coconut oil limit oxidative stress on the stomach caused by gastritis. In addition, its anti-inflammatory property provides relief from symptoms of gastritis. 

7. Green Tea 

What you need 

Green tea herb (1 teaspoon) 

Honey (1 teaspoon) 

A glass of warm water 

What to do 

Have the green tea herb steeped in hot water for some minutes

Strain the mixture. Add honey. Mix properly. 

Then start sipping.  

How often should this be done? 

Two cups daily are fine. 

What it does 

The antioxidants contained in green tea protect the stomach lining while reducing gastritis symptoms. 

A regular intake of this tea may treat severe gastritis. 

8. Yogurt 

What you need 

Yogurt 

What to do

Use yogurt as a snack or Take it along with your meal 

How often should this be eaten?

We recommend 2 cups daily for best results 

What it does

Yogurts is a probiotic. Probiotics speed up the healing process of gastric ulcers while destroying H.pylori. 

9. Honey 

What you need 

Honey (2 tablespoons) 

A cup of warm water 

What to do

Add honey to water. Mix. 

Then drink. For the best result, drink on an empty stomach. 

How often should this be done?

Daily, every morning is fine. 

What it does 

Honey has bactericidal nature and destroys harmful stomach bacteria. Its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties accelerate the stomach lining’s healing process. 

10. Jeera Water 

What you need 

Cumin seeds

A cup of warm water 

What to do

Roast your cumin seeds. Grind till powder. 

Add water and mix. Then drink. 

How often should this be done?

Drink with each meal. Twice daily 

What it does 

Cumin seeds have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial propriety that help relieve gastritis symptoms while accelerating your recovery process. 

11. Kefir 

Kefir is a natural probiotic because it contains microorganisms in large numbers. Kefir aid digestion and balances stomach acid. It also contains antimicrobial properties that help eliminate bacterial infection. 

Buy your kefir from the market. Then drink daily. 

12. Oatmeal 

What you need 

Oatmeal (1/2 cup)

Water /milk ( 1/2 cup) 

What to do 

Cook your oatmeal with milk or water. Eat. 

You can eat with none acidic fruits such as apples, pears, and bananas. 

How often should this be done?

Eat daily 

What it does 

Oatmeal contains minerals and fibers to aid the digestion process. Its alkalinity provides soothing to the stomach lining. 

Other tips

Be sure to implement most of the tips on the list. Adhere to this lifestyle routine strictly for about 2 weeks and after then, slowly introduce the forbidden diets.  

  • Maintain a decent sleep routine
  • Do not skip breakfast
  • Have your breakfast at the earliest. Specifically, a few minutes after you wake up. 
  • Always eat warm food
  • Consume neutral meals (decent salt, not too spicy, minimal temperature, minimal sugar)
  • Avoid acid fruits and tomatoes
  • Eat more wholegrain foods
  • Eat little meals regularly up to 5 times daily
  • Drink coffee only after you’ve eaten (not on empty stomach)
  • Quit smoking (it’s generally unhealthy anyway)
  • Eat dinner at least 5 hours before sleep
  • Drink plenty water
  • Use a food diary to identify what food is best for you and what’s not.
  • Limit alcohol – red wine is a great alternative to white wine.

Which Diet Worsens Gastritis?

If you have gastritis, some food may worsen your symptom. Watch out for the following diet: 

  • Coffee 
  • Black tea 
  • Carbonated beverage 
  • Peppermint tea 
  • Tomatoes 
  • Fruits 
  • Salty foods 
  • Sweet food
  • Alcohol  
  • Cold food

Some other actions that may trigger this stomach flare-up include:

  • Excessive alcohol consumption 
  • Using pain reliever extensively
  • Transmission from Bacteria like the Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori)
  • Stress 
  • Infection
